Installation and Precautions of Bridge Slotted Screens

Bridge slotted screens are widely used in deep wells and various water resource extraction environments due to their efficient filtration performance and adaptability to complex geological conditions. To ensure that the bridge slotted screen operates at maximum efficiency during installation and use, and to avoid equipment damage or performance degradation due to improper installation, we provide the following installation guidelines and important precautions.

Installation Guidelines
  • Suspended Downpipe Technique

When installing the bridge slotted screen, a suspended downpipe technique should be employed to ensure that the water filter remains in a stable suspended state during the downpipe process. This technique can prevent unnecessary stress on the filter due to sudden sinking or unstable operations, ensuring its structural integrity.

  • Check the Status of the bridge slotted screen

Before officially lowering the pipe, carefully check the appearance of the bridge slotted screen, especially for any deformation that may have occurred during handling. Deformed filters may affect their normal operation; necessary adjustments should be made to ensure a smooth installation process and guarantee the normal filtering effect of the filter.

  • Mud density control

Before lowering the pipe, the density of the mud must be controlled and diluted to no more than 1.2 T/M³ to prevent the gaps in the bridge slotted screen from becoming blocked, which could create a significant pressure difference inside and outside the water filter. Excessive pressure difference may lead to filter deformation, affecting its service life. Particularly when using brown skin or nylon mesh to wrap the water filter on-site, greater attention should be paid to controlling the pressure difference to avoid unnecessary damage.

  • Smooth lowering of the pipe

During the pipe lowering process, the operation should be kept smooth. If resistance is encountered, do not force the pipe forward; instead, gently rotate it at a certain angle and then try to lower it slowly while checking if the water filter has deformed due to the resistance.

  • Well washing operation

After the bridge slotted screen is installed, a compressor is usually used for the well washing operation to ensure that there are no impurities left in the well and to maintain smooth water flow. If the piston well cleaning method is to be used, the piston should be pulled gently and released gently to avoid sudden lifting and dropping, in order to prevent deformation of the pipe body due to excessive internal and external pressure differences.

Precautions
  • Calculate the strength of the bridge slotted screen to ensure it meets usage requirements.
  • Prevent the bridge slotted screen from colliding with hard objects to avoid damage.
  • When placing the bridge slotted screen, it should be done slowly and evenly; sudden movements should be avoided.
